未来的VPN-MPLS-VPN

摘要:
多协议标签交换MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switching)是一新兴的网络技术,不断趋于成熟;而虚拟专用网VPN(Virtual Private Network)作为一个最大的服务领域,正面临网络业务量爆炸性增长所带 来的挑战。在这样的背景下,MPLS与VPN的有机结合具有很高的实用价值。MPLS技术的应用使用户得到了高速、高质量、高安全性的服务,而服务供应商提供这种服务过程也变得相对简单。同时,整个网络结构的弹性与可扩展性也得到了很大的改善。在扼要介绍VPN的一些基本概念及VPN网络结构2种基本模型的基础上,着重描述了MPLS-VPN原理(包括MPLS-VPN所采用的网络结构模型及其转发机制)和MPLS-VPN性能(包括MPLS技术为VPN所提供的安全性保证、QoS(Quality of Service)保障及流量工程功能),最后还指出了MPLS-VPN的优点及现存问题。

Abstract:
The Multiprotocol Label Switching(MPLS) is a new network technology that is quickly growing up,while Virtual Private Network,the greatest service field,is facing the challenge raised by the explosive increase of traffic in the network.In this instance, the combination of MPLS and VPN(Virtual Private Network) is very valuable for practical purpose.The use of MPLS technology gives customers the service with high speed, high quality and high security,and it makes the service supply relatively simpler for service provider.At the same time, the flexibility and expansibility of the network structure are also greatly improved.Based on an introduction to VPN,the description of MPLS?VPN is emphasized, including its network structure,forwarding mechanism and performance of security assurance,QoS and flow engineering.The benefits and existing problems of MPLS?VPN are also pointed out.
