Abstract: |
In the context of inverter-based source(IBS) integration, traditional directional elements are gra-dually revealing adaptability issues, and there is currently a lack of comprehensive theoretical analysis. To address this, combined with the inverter control strategies and the latest requirements for low-voltage ride-through(LVRT) of IBSs in China, the fault characteristics of IBS are deduced. Based on this, an in-depth analysis is conducted on the angle characteristics exhibited by IBS and load under traditional directional elements. Furthermore, considering various influencing factors, a quantitative angle range of traditional directional elements in lines with IBS is given. The correctness of the theoretical analysis is validated using PSCAD/EMTDC simulation and field data. Theoretical analysis and simulative results indicate that the theoretical foundation established by traditional directional elements is no longer valid in IBS access scenario, which is easy to lead to misjudgments and cannot meet the requirements of relay protection. |
